William V. Rudnik, 84, of Barton City, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit. Born November 23, 1938, to Vincent J. and Frances (Prybys) Rudnik, he was raised there. William worked as a police officer for the City of Detroit from 1975 until 1995. He moved to Greenbush and settled in Barton City. He worked as a Deputy for the Alcona County Sheriff Department. He attended St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his large garden. He recently enjoyed making his own wine. William is survived by five children, Dawn (Steve) Rudnik-Trombley, Vincent Rudnik, Heather Rudnik, Daniel Rudnik, and Alex (Jackie) Rudnik, three grandchildren, Alyssa Pletl, Peyton Rudnik, and Morgan Rudnik, two sisters, Barbara Jozefowicz, and Frances (Walter) Ahel, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved canine companion, Zipper. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Rudnik, and his brother-in-law, Thomas Jozefowicz. Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the funeral mass at 12:00 PM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln.
