William P. Putsky, 83, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena. Born October 3, 1939, to Joseph A. and Margaret E. (Selfridge) Putsky in Jersey Shore, PA, he was raised in New Jersey. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a truck driver for Shell Oil. Bill married Kathy (Gonyea) Hurley, and they celebrated 37 years together in January. In 1988, he moved to Port Huron, MI. In 2000, he retired to his “haven of happiness” in Lincoln. Bill was a charter member and Vice President of the Brownlee Lake Association. He served on the Council of the Village of Lincoln, as Sewer Commissioner, and on the Beautification Committee. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Chickadee Hunting Club. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing. Bill liked to dance, and taught Line Dancing at the Lincoln Senior Center. He enjoyed gardening, and bonfires at the lake. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Mikado. Bill is survived by his wife, Kathy, six children, Pamela Dirkson (Deb Clemo), William J. Putsky (Eileen), Karin Putsky, Darcy Putsky, Patrick Hurley, and Glenn Hurley, nine grandchildren, Shayla Flanagan (John), Morgan Dirkson (Erin Devers Dirkson), Kevin Putsky, Katherine Putsky, Nicole Coenen, Christopher Hurley, Zach Hurley, Brittany Hurley, and Marissa Clemo, two great grandchildren, Jordan Dirkson and Gabriella Ramos, his sister, Kathy Powell (Marty), two brothers, Michael Putsky and Nick Putsky (Kathy), and two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Gonyea (Brett Andrews), and Donna Armstrong. He was preceded in death by two sisters Joan Schwartz (Albie), and Susie Mayes, and his sister-in-law, Joan Gonyea. Cremation arrangements were made though Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
