Walter Lee Smith Sr.

Walter Lee Smith Sr died Friday, November 24th at home. He was born to Lee Emery Smith and Florena (Harris) Smith on January 9, 1940. He was Postmaster in Mikado from 1988-92, then Postmaster in Spruce, retiring in 2003. He was very active and even into his eighties loved helping his children build houses and work on vehicles, woodworking, being/working outside especially on his tractor, downhill skiing, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 41 years, Carol Sue (Kirkindall) Smith, and three sisters, Nancy Sexton, Margorie Okerblom, and Beatrice Weil. He is survived by his children: Robin (Hugh) Mason, Kimberly (Glen) Kanarr, Walter Lee Jr (Michelle) Smith. Grandchildren: Blaize (Candace) Mason, Shanaleigh (Aaron) Koopman and Brayah Mason, Jordan (Anna) Kanarr, Taylor (Michael) Oliver, Eden (Carl) Siebert, Brianna (Ben) Gould, Kylee, Lexi, Jayden, Madelyn, Eva and Mason. Great-grandchildren: Emma, Fitzgerald, Brighton Lily, Koah Gray, Adyson, Claire, Aleya, Judah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Eliam, Fletcher, and Cooper. He will be greatly missed by us all. 

A small memorial, for immediate family only, will be held at a later date.
