Tom Fred Breitmeyer Jr., 71, of Harrisville, MI, died at home on October 10, 2021, following a brief illness. Beloved husband of Ilona (Muehlbeck) for 37 years. Loving father of Kim Breitmeyer (Chris) Dana of East Lansing, MI, Brittany (Dan) Rahman of Esko, MN, and Thomas (“Trey”) Frederick (Heidi) Breitmeyer, III of Alpena, MI. Adored by grandchildren Katherine and Oliver Dana and Quinn and Hayden Rahman. Brother of Robert (Kathleen) Breitmeyer of New Baltimore, MI and Julie (Nick) Antenucci of New Waterford, MI. Also survived by a niece and nephew, cousins, and special friends of many years who are part of his extended “framily.” Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Frederick and Joanne (Matthews) Breitmeyer, Sr. He spent his early years in Mt. Clemens, MI and young adult years in Southfield, MI after attending Michigan State University. For the past 40 years, he resided in Harrisville where he met the love of his life and raised his family, who was his greatest joy and a source of immense pride. Tom enjoyed golfing whenever he had the chance, being reliably disappointed by the Detroit Lions, and watching nearly every other televised sport, documentary, or home improvement program available. He cherished long conversations about life and current events over coffee, beer, wine, and good food with friends of many years. He never missed an opportunity to attend the “Old Crowd” social club gathering in Mt. Clemens every August. In his later years, he worked for Alcona Community Schools in multiple capacities. More recently, he proudly worked for the Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority assisting adults with disabilities. However, his most important and coveted titles were “Dad” and “Papa.” Memorial gathering on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 2 PM, at The Lost Lake Woods Club’s Badger Lake Pavilion, 4243 Lost Lake Trail, Lincoln, MI 48742, (989) 736-8197, www.lostlakewoodsclub.com.
