Stanley “Fred” Keerl, 82, of Mikado, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Tawas Manor. Born October 2, 1939, to Adolf K. and Florence (Hoffman) Keerl in Dearborn, MI, he was raised there. On January 13, 1962, he married Bette Ann Ross in Garden City. They were residents of the Detroit area, where Fred enjoyed a career in real estate until moving to Harrisville in 1981. Fred was an avid outdoorsman, whose love of fishing led him to open Keerls Korner, a fishing and camping store in Harrisville. He also enjoyed hunting, especially ducks and geese. Fred was a member of St. Anne and St. Raphael Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knight of Columbus Council #4235. He was a member of the Harrisville Lions Club and of the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department. Fred is survived by his wife, Bette Ann, four children, Tom Keerl of Harrisville, Tracy D’Augustino of Harrisville, Tina (Gary) Gfeller of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Barbara (Bill) Richardson of AuGres, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Pat D’Augustino, one sister, and one brother. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM with a Parish Prayer Service at 6:30 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville. Visitation will continue Friday, September 2, 2022, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Rev. John William will officiate.
