Ruth F. Valentine (Media)

Ruth Frances Valentine (Media), 83, of Oscoda passed peacefully at home on Saturday October 7, 2023.

She was born July 29, 1940, in Pontiac Michigan, to the late James and Catherine (Compliment) Media. She graduated from Utica High School in 1958. On January 27, 1962, she married Harry Valentine in Macomb County, Michigan.

Ruth worked for many years in the Dryden bar and Huddle Bar before going to Baylock (ITT-Cooper). After retiring in 2006, she and Harry lived in Mikado for 22 years.  She loved playing BINGO, crocheting and cross stitching.  Ruth enjoyed trips to the casino, sending cards and spending time with her family. She was a lifetime member of the Mikado Area Goodfellows. 

She is survived by her son, Harry (Monica) Valentine, two daughters Lynn Robtoy and Jean Valentine, five grandchildren, Jeremy Weber, Allysha Bontrager, Jeanna Anderson, Nicholas Hartwell, Rickey (Carly) Sewell, two great-grandchildren, Alexis Osbon and Kinsley Clouse, her sisters Judy Stealgraeve and Rita (Buddy) Dotter, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Valentine on January 5, 2022, her son-in-law Rickey Robtoy, siblings George (Gerri) Media, Steve Media, Teresa (Harlen) Brushaber, Pat (Olin) Black, Mary (Don) Measel, and Bernadette (Jim) VanBuskirk, and her brother-in-law Ralph Stealgraeve.

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.  A Celebration of Life will be held on October 21, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Mikado Civic Center.
