Ronald S. Skiba, 89, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, at his granddaughter’s home in St. Clair Shores, MI. Born December 26, 1932, to Clement W. and Marie (Olejniczak) Skiba in Milwaukee, WI, he was raised in Utica, MI. Ron served in the US Navy from 1951-1954. On April 13, 1955, he married Dorothy Adams. He worked for computer services for Chrysler Missile Plant. He married Lynda Saker in Shelby Township on February 7, 1986. They were longtime residents of Harrisville. Ron was a member of the Harrisville VFW, and of the Harrisville Goodfellows. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and attending Navy reunions. Ron was Harbormaster at the Harrisville Harbor for several years. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. Ron is survived by his daughter, Joan (Michael) Whitfield, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, his stepson, Michael Messerschmidt, his sister, Carole, (John) Wright, his brother Clement Skiba, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his wife, Lynda, four daughters, Nancy Kowalewski, Lisa Irvin, Marie Barylski, and Karen Richter, and his brother, Carl Skiba. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
