Ronald G. Gonyea Sr., 65, of Lincoln, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at home with his wife and children by his side. Born November 14, 1955, to George S. and Zella N. (Donaldson) Gonyea in Alpena, Ron lived his whole life on the family farm in Hawes Township. On July 3, 1985, he married Kathleen E. Bielusiak in Alpena. Ron loved the outdoors and owned and operated Ron Gonyea Forest Products, and raised beef cattle and other livestock on the family farm. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Chickadee Club and of the NRA. He was a talented diesel mechanic, and loved wrenching on equipment. He was active with the Alcona County Fair, and loved attending his children’s sporting events. Ron is survived by his wife, Kathie, five children, Kerry Gonyea (Mike Anderson), Ronald “Ronnie” (Amy) Gonyea Jr., Kendall (Doug) Nedo, Matthew Gonyea (Andrea Caraher), and Kandace (Shane) Bowman, nine grandchildren, Kara Gonyea, Myra Armstrong, Burghan Gordy, Karsen Gonyea, Kennedy, Harper, and Bradley Nedo, Oakley Gonyea, and Baylee Bowman, and his mother Zella Gonyea. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Ronna, his father, George Gonyea, two sisters, Gloria Hendricks and Diane Donovan, and one brother, Stanley Gonyea. Mr. Gonyea is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Rev. Tyler Bischoff will officiate.
