Rodney “Uncle Rock” James Byron, 63, of Oscoda, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City. Born October 23, 1959, to Frank and Doris (Kundinger) Byron Sr., in Saginaw, MI, he was raised there. Rocky worked for Hemlock Semi-Conductor and retired after 25 years to Oscoda. He enjoyed the peacefulness of the out of doors, and enjoyed watching the wildlife, hunting deer and turkey, and fishing for brook trout. He enjoyed playing hockey and watching the Detroit Red Wings. He loved his family and friends, and will be remembered as goofy, but sentimental and nostalgic. Rocky is survived by his daughter, Nicole Byron, two sons, Luke (jarrah) Byron and Mikey (Kaitlyn) Byron, his grandson, and light of his life, Duke Byron, two sisters, Sheryl (Ken) Foster, and Rhonda (Robert) Hart, and two brothers, Frank Byron Jr., and Max (Stacy Jo) Byron. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his niece, Jamie Ayers. Rocky is at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville, where visitation will take place on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM.
