Robert G. Strauss

Robert G. Strauss, 82, of Mikado, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home. Born April 6, 1939 to George and Rose (Vash) Strauss in Detroit, MI, he was raised in Flint. On September 12, 1958 he married JoAnn Fleury in Flint. They were longtime residents of the Flint area. Bob worked for General Motors at Fisher Body I and later at Buick City. He retired after 30 years to Mikado, MI. Bob was a talented small engine mechanic. He enjoyed working in his garage on small engines and boat motors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bob is survived by his wife, JoAnn, his daughter Sherry Ann (Scott) Connell, his granddaughter, Kristen Ann Connell, his brother Gary G. (Shari) Strauss, his sister, Rose (James) Benford, two nieces, Jennifer Champney and Michelle Cruickshank, one great niece Octavia Champney, good friends, Ed Fuseek, John Renshaw, and Ken Fogle, and his beloved canine companions Kali and Heidi. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
