Richard A. Pressey

Richard A. Pressey, 83, of Oscoda, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

He was born July 17, 1941, to Ralph and Hazel (Heldenbrand) Pressey in Detroit. The family moved to Taylor, Michigan, where he graduated from Taylor Center High School in 1959. Richard married Carolyn (West) Seacrist on November 6, 1994. They resided in Taylor until 2006 when they moved to Oscoda. Richard was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado where he enjoyed attending and serving the Lord. He loved reading, and studying the Bible. His fun times were spent playing pickleball, golf, bike riding, and tennis. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his son, Christopher Pressey, two stepsons, Jimmy and Ben Seacrist, two grandchildren, Noah Seacrist and Kira Heath, his sister, Terri (Larry) Zeckzer, his brother-in-law, Ben (Jackie) West, his sister-in-law, Claudia (Bill) Tassey, and his brother-in-law Jim (Lorrie) Urban, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Urban) in 1991, and his parents. 

There will be a memorial service Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado. Pastor Tim Steiner will officiate. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2902 F-30, Mikado, MI 48745.
