Renee I. Larson

Renee I. Larson, 70, of Barton City, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at her home.

Born December 8, 1953 to Eldon and Rena (Struthers) Wanzer in Harrisville, she has been a resident of the area for most of her life.  She graduated from Alcona High School in 1972.  On July 4, 1972, she married Charles “Bob” Larson in Harrisville.  She supported him throughout his career with the United States Air Force.  Renee began working at The Iron Skillet in Lincoln in 1986.  In 1995, she purchased the restaurant, and operated it until 1998, when she began working at the Alcona County Commission on Aging.  Renee enjoyed playing Scrabble, trips to the casino, and cross stitch.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Renee is survived by her husband, Bob, her daughter Kelly (Andy) VonFintel of Harrisville, her son Bart (Nikki) Larson of Oscoda, four grandchildren, Chance (Brooke) Snell of Traverse City, Colten Larson of Okinawa, Japan, and Jasmine and Chloe VonFintel of Harrisville, four sisters, and three brothers.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.  A private memorial service will take place.  Memorial donations are suggested to Compassus Hospice, 199 Long Rapids Road, Alpena, MI 49707.
