Raymond A. Mahalak

September 27, 1933 — January 14, 2020

Raymond A. Mahalak, 86, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at his home.     Born September 27, 1933 to Vincent William and Honora (Joseph) Mahalak in Harrisville Twp., he was a lifelong resident of the area.  Ray served in the U.S. Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. On June 28, 1958 he married Geraldine Burge in Killmaster. Ray worked in home construction, building numerous homes in the area.  He was a member of the Barton City VFW 8135. He enjoyed hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and tending to his vegetable garden.     Ray is survived by his wife, Geraldine, his son, Raymond (Julie) Mahalak II, his daughter, Lynette (John) Wiley, five grandchildren, Winston Reeves II (Gerald Montano), Desmond Reeves, Raymond Mahalak III, Ryan Mahalak, and Cyrrah Kelly, seven great grandchildren, three sisters, Margaret Trembath, Suzanne O’Connor, and Connie Schaffer, two brothers, Louis “Luke” (Rose) Mahalak and David (Sharon) Mahalak, and his sister-in-law, Frances Mahalak.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Vincent Mahalak.     Mr. Mahalak is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 3:00 PM.  Rev. Martha Hartman Stuart will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Haynes Township in the spring.
