Peter P. Burke

November 17, 1955 — January 15, 2022

Peter “Pete” Burke passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 15, 2022, at his home. Pete was born in Marysville, Kansas on November 17, 1955. A few years later his family moved to Anaheim, California where he lived until moving to Alpena in 1983. Pete was employed at Phelps Collins Air Base as a water plant operator until retiring in 1996. In retirement, he enjoyed his cabin in the woods. He loved the peaceful setting and watching all the wildlife, especially the deer. His other favorite “hobby” was collecting antiques and tchotchkes which he proudly displayed in his home. Peter is survived by his sons, John Burke and Ryan (Christine) Burke, and grandson Ezekiel Burke, his brother, Michael Burke, sisters, Coleen (Charlie) Puissegur and Kelley (Andy) Putney, as well as special friends Joe and Julie and neighbors Paul and Judy. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ann (Ponder) Burke and his nephew Patrick Burke. His weird jokes and animal noises will be missed by all. Rest in peace. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A private memorial will take place. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Peter P.
