Pete Krentz, 83, of Hubbard Lake passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at his home. Born December 31, 1934 to Adolph and Emma (Bruski) Krentz in Alpena, he was a lifelong resident of the area. On July 11, 1953, he married Roselyn Hiske in Wolf Creek. Pete worked for Huron Portland Cement and retired in 1971. He enjoyed working as a welder, building docks. He loved hunting and fishing and watching sports. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake. He is survived by his daughter, Kristi Martin of Hubbard Lake, his son, Keith (Justine) Krentz of Hubbard Lake, five grandchildren, Kimberly, Carly and Cody (Miranda) Martin and Luke and Olivia Krentz, and one sister, Geraldine Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roselyn on April 20, 2018, a son in law Jim Martin and by 16 brothers and sisters, Albert Krentz, Harold Beitler, Reinhold Beitler, Hilda Kelly, Lydia Beitler, Fritz Beitler, Albert Beitler, Walt Beitler, Arnold Krentz, Adolph Krentz, Herman Krentz, Helen Ricketts, Ewald Krentz, Bertha Ware, Elden “Yogi” Krentz, and Alfred Krentz. There will be a memorial service Friday, May 25, 2018 at Hope Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations are suggested to he Hubbard Lake Fire Department.
