Peggy L. Trabalka, 78, of Harrisville, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena. Born May 13, 1943 to Charles and Doris (Kelley) Sturtz in Detroit, MI, she was raised there. Peggy graduated from Cass Technical High School with a degree in commercial art. She was a layout and design artist in the automotive industry. On February 3, 1962, she married Kenneth Trabalka. A talented artist, Peggy illustrated children’s books and juvenile biographies. She designed and authored decorative painting books and created many articles for magazines. She had one of her art pieces selected for display at the Smithsonian during the holiday. She belonged to many artist groups, the last of which she cherished as a teacher, introducing acrylic painting to locals, who became part of her creative family at Truly Yours, and Shelton Fund for the Arts. Peggy is survived by her husband, Ken, two daughters, Sandra Rayes of Greenbush and Pamela Trabalka of White Lake, and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Addison, her brother Charles Sturtz Jr., and her parents Doris Wackerle and Charles Sturtz.
