Paul Geroge Owen, 93, died at home May 14, 2020. He was born May 17, 1926 in Bradley, Illinois, to George and Lorena (Schumann) Owen. The family moved to Chicago in 1929. He served in the Navy during WWII, from Dec. 1943 to June 1946. After basic training he was stationed on Boca Chica Key in Florida as a 3rd Class Petty Officer. He married Harriette Stroner April 6, 1946. They were married for 52 years and had four children. He worked as a Michigan Conservation Officer from July 1, 1956 until his retirement June 30, 1984. During this time he and his family moved from Marshall, MI to Mio, MI. After retiring from the DNR he worked as a part time deputy in Oscoda County from July 1984 to November 1988. He and his wife Harriette moved from Mio to Sage Lake in 1989. Later he moved to Lincoln, MI to be with his dear friend Delores Blumer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Harriette in 1998, his son Bruce Owen in 2013 and his infant great grandson Donny Perry. He is survived by his three daughters, Diane (Dennis) Stutesman of Palm Coast, FL, Denise (Paul) Botkin of Curran, MI, and Sue Owen of Kalamazoo, his beloved partner of many years, Delores Blumer of Lincoln, his grandchildren, Todd and Shannon Stutesman, Lacey Owen and Jaclyn McCusker, his great grandchildren, Taylor Perry, and Lincoln and Lucas McCusker, his nephews Jack and Stephen and nieces Cheryl and Caryl. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
