Orville “Joe” Donaldson, 90, of Barton City, passed away Friday December 18, 202 at MidMichigan Medical center in Midland. Joe was born in Barton City on September 2, 1930 to the late Ross and Amelia (Ostrom) Donaldson. On July 30, 1955 he married the love of his life Glenda Cutsinger. Joe retired from a lifelong career as a semi-truck driver from Roadway Express in 1986. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, deer and bear hunting and riding his side by side. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at hunting camp. Joe also had a love and passion for refurbishing old Ford tractors which led him to be known as “Tractor Joe”. Joe is survived by his wife of 65 years, Glenda and their three boys, Joey, David, and Dale Donaldson, nine grandchildren, Karen (Joe) Vanderhoff, and Kenneth, Kaylynn, Brian, Sydney, Jake (Ashley) Danny, Holly, and Troy Donaldson, and his sister Zella (the late George) Gonyea, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Kimberly Perrigan, Dick and Daisy Bradley, and Charlie and Kathy Carriveau. Joe was preceded in death by his two brothers, Les and Bernard, two sisters, Mildred Tibor and Margaret Lenz, and his grandson Troy Donaldson. Cremation services were handled by Gillies Funeral Home. Per Joe’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alcona Humane Society.
