Norma M. Alstrom, 97, of Ossineke, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Alpena. Born October 2, 1924 to Frank and Leeta (Saylor) Ferris in Royal Oak, MI, she was raised in Spruce. On November 4, 1943, she married Willard Alstrom in Harrisville. Longtime residents of Spruce, Norma was a member of Ossineke United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated lifetime member of the VFW Post 6754 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts and cooking, and loved music. She loved spending time with her family. Norma is survived by two daughters, Susan and Karen Alstrom, six grandchildren, Greg Alstrom Sr., Matt (Mindie) O’Neil, Jeremy (Mia) Kozak, Jeff (Alicia) Kozak, Steven Wilson, and Ken Weischowski, 10 great grandchildren, Greg Alstrom Jr., Josh Alstrom, Tyler Weischowski, Victoria, Nick, Hannah O’Neil, and Gloria, Emily, Amelia, and Ryder Kozak, and two great great grandchildren, two sisters, Donna Cocciolone and Joan Goodburne, as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Bill, her son Frank Alstrom and her granddaughter Amy Weischowski. Her body has been donated to the University of Michigan Medical School.
