Naomi J. Potter

Naomi Jean (Morang) Potter of Lincoln, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 2nd, 1959 in Alpena, MI, to Leonard Morang, Sr. and Donna (Gustafson) Morang of Lincoln, MI. She was happily married to Phillip Potter Sr. for 42 years (December 3rd, 1977). Together they had two wonderful children, Tonya (Joshua) Pagels and Phillip Jr. (Carrie) Potter. Everyone who knew her knows that her heart belonged to her five grandchildren, Brooklynn Jean & Brady James Pagels, and Ella Grace, Ashlyn Jean & Olivia Mae Potter. She will be dearly missed by all those that she left behind, including siblings Roxanne Ward, Leonard (Heidi) Morang, Joseph Morang, Christopher (Lynn) Morang, Earl Morang, Lori (James) McGuire, Thomas Morang, sister-in-law Linda Morang, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Russell Morang. A beloved member of the community, Naomi was known for her selflessness, compassion and kindness to all who knew her. She has touched the lives of so many, especially the numerous children (her ‘babies’) who called her Nana. She left a lasting legacy of how to love, treating everyone like one of her own. Visitation will take place Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the memorial service at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln, MI. Dr. Rev. Arie Van Brenk will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for prayers. Monetary donations can be made in memory of Naomi Jean Potter to Hospice of Michigan or Alpena Friends Together, or directly to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
