Mary L. St. John, 86, of Oscoda, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas. Born March 21, 1935 to Leonard and Carrie (Hays) Tatum in Carrabelle, Florida, she was raised there. On January 11, 1972, she married George St. John in Chula Vista, California. They were longtime residents of Oregon before moving to Michigan in July of 2004. A devoted homemaker and caregiver, Mary loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crochet and word searches. She was an avid reader and excellent cook. Mary is survived by eight children, Dave (Elaine) Calhoun. Gary (Kandy) Calhoun, Debbie Calhoun, Sandra Miller, James (James Duncan) St. John, Donald Wilson. Terry (Kim) Mason, and Erin (Jeff) Bray, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, two sisters, Myrtice Willoughby and Berniece Campbell, her brother, Herman (Evelyn) Tatum, numerous nieces and nephews, and the Seaquist family. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on October 9, 2012, her son Daniel St. John in 1985, and nine brothers and sisters. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
