Mary Katherine Heiman

Mary Katherine Heiman, 64, of Spruce, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2023.  Born May 5, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary was a beloved sister, aunt, niece, and cousin who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary’s love for family was as strong as her dance moves. With her family, she loved to boogie down to the rhythm of Motown, Sister Sledge, and Tina Turner. She was the heart of her family and a true dancing queen. Mary also enjoyed singing, and her rendition of Silent Night could give the angels a run for their money. Mary's birthday was her favorite holiday, and every year, she celebrated the season in style surrounded by family and friends.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Kathy Dykes, Karen (Dale) Wasik, Sharon (Mike) Konopka, and Debbie (Tim Conroy) Heiman, brothers, Kurt Heiman and Ted (Susan) Heiman, aunt, Lucille Gregg, and godfather, David Gregg. Mary also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish her memory.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Joyce Heiman, and dear nieces, Chrissie and Michaeleen Conroy.        

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Michigan – Alpena branch (www.hom.org) would be greatly appreciated.  A celebration of Mary’s life will take place in the Spring.

Mary’s presence will forever remain in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her. May she rest in peace, knowing she brought light and laughter to the world.
