Marlene R. Anderson, 82, of Barton City, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.
Born January 24, 1942 to Raymond and Margaret (Sabo) Brown in Detroit, Mi, she was raised there. A longtime resident of Barton City, Marlene was well known at her restaurant, The South Shore Inn. She loved laying out in the sun and tending to her flower and rock gardens. Marlene was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City. She was a member of the Barton City Eagles, and enjoyed photographing the Biggest Little Fourth in the North every year.
Marlene is survived by her nephews, Jericho Brown and Daniel Brown, her brother Ray Brown, two stepdaughters, Kelly (Nick) Cucuru and Kim (Don) Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Anderson, two sisters, Kathleen “Cassie” Miller and Ruth Prizicina, and two brothers, Ron Brown and John Brown.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM until the Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Rev. Leslie Nye will officiate.
