Marian J. Martin

Marian J. Martin, 99, of Barton City, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center Alpena.     Born December 26, 1919 to Earl P. and Grace E. (Pattee) Greene in Curran, MI, she was raised there.  On December 2, 1960, she married Robert D. Martin in Detroit.  They were longtime residents of Brighton.  Marian was a teacher at Oak Park, retiring in 1981.  She moved to Barton City in 2006.  Marian played Scrabble every night with her sister, Florence.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City, where she was active in the WELCA and played the piano for the choir.  She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting.    Marian is survived by her daughter, Carol (John) Martin of Walled Lake, her son, Ronald Martin of California, two grandsons, Jesse and Daniel Schaffer, one great granddaughter, one sister, Florence Cordes of Barton City, as well as several nieces and nephews including Carl and Georgetta Cordes of Barton City.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her brother, Oramel Greene.     Friends may call on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 11:00 until the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City.  Rev.
