M. Alberta Michaud

Mary Alberta Michaud, 94, of Mikado, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at her home.

Born August 11, 1930 to Joseph and Bertha (Cameron) Silverthorn in Mikado, she has been a lifelong resident of the area. On May 28, 1949, she married Donald Michaud. They owned and operated Michaud Fuel for many years before retiring in 1983. Alberta was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Mikado. She was a member of the Mikado American Legion and the Barton City Eagles Club. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved playing cards, especially Poker and Euchre. 

Alberta is survived by her daughter, Gayle (Charles) Nathaniel, her son, Paul (Holly Loyer) Michaud, five grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Tonia, Tara, and Tony, 14 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and her brother, Roger (Nancy) Silverthorn. She was preceded in death by her husband Don on April 6, 1999, and her son, Kevin Michaud on October 15, 2017.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Mikado. Rev. Basil Lek will officiate. Burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery, Mikado. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Raphael Catholic Church in Mikado.
