Lonnie L. Travis, 83, of Mikado, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at My Michigan Medical Center in Alpena.
Born January 10, 1941, to Basil and Lela (Procunier) Travis in Harrisville, he has been a lifelong resident of the area. On June 16, 1994, he married Sandra Gill. Lonnie was a welder with Starboard Industries. He loved restoring old cars, and was well known for his chainsaw carving. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially with his brothers.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Sandra, four children, Connie Travis, Carla (Ed) Brown, Tony (Diane) Travis, and Dessie (Alisha) Procunier, nine grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, Sarah, Melissa, Michelle, Mike, Ashley, Tony Jr., and Colman, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild on the way, one sister, Linda Ayres, one brother, Donald (Lois) Travis, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many good friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frederick “Fritz”, Leonard, Robert, Allen, Billy, and Richard Travis, Betty Kenitz, Verna Hopp, and Dora Travis.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
