Lloyd L. Yuill

Lloyd L Yuill, 89 of Hubbard Lake passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2020, surrounded by family. He was born in Harrisville, Michigan on December 19, 1930 to John B and Ida (Peterson) Yuill. After graduating from high school, he served in the US Air Force. He met and later married Phyllis Ann Kitter, the love of his life, on November 24, 1951. They were married for 66 and ½ years before Phyllis’ death in 2018. They moved to Saginaw in 1952 where he found a job as a Police Officer with the City of Saginaw. He retired from the Police Department after 29 years in December of 1981. After being retired for over 20 years, Lloyd found some part time work as a Golf Course Ranger at the White Pine National Golf Course in Hubbard Lake. His duties were to reach out to the golfers and help make sure they were enjoying themselves and would find plenty of lost golf balls for his family. Lloyd enjoyed many activities that he found pleasure in. They included softball, bowling, hunting and golf. Whether he was golfing in a league or with family or friends, he enjoyed being on the golf course and enjoyed the company of who he was golfing with. He also enjoyed playing cards and dancing with Phyllis, especially polkas. He and Phyllis were also charter members at New Life Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake. He truly loved his church and was very active. He is survived by his 4 children, John (Chris) Yuill, Paul (Renna) Yuill, Lori (Dennis) Nuttall and Jim (Isabella) Yuill. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one of his joys in life, John (Janay), Sarah, Gary, Heather, Brad, Amy (Brock), Ashley, Justin, Kate, Mark, Jessie and great-grandchildren Olivia and Owen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to Phyllis, he was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gordon and his sister Dorothy A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 15th at noon at the New Life Lutheran Church, 25 E. Kirche in the Woods.  Rev. Christina Bright will officiate.  Visitation will begin at 10am.
