Kevin A. Love

Kevin A. Love, 68, of Harrisville, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at his home.

Born June 2, 1956, to Alexander “Sandy” and Nancy L. (Strasser) Love in Detroit, MI, he was raised in Livonia. Kevin graduated from Livonia Stevenson High School in 1975, went to A & P school, and was hired by Zantop Airlines as a mechanic, later becoming the Director of Quality Control until they closed in 2005. He then worked for National Airlines as a QC Inspector, and finally as a QC/QA Inspector for CHI Aviation. On July 3, 2004, he married Deborah Bruggenwirth in Manchester, MI. Kevin was a volunteer firefighter for Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Department in Tipton, MI from 1999 until 2013, earning the rank of Lieutenant. He moved to Harrisville in 2013, and joined the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department, and retired in 2019. Kevin enjoyed being with his family and his dogs and vacationing on Sanibel Island, FL. He was a classic car enthusiast, and enjoyed attending car shows with his 1970 GTO Judge.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Deborah, his son, Adam (Jessica) Gauss of Sacramento, CA, his daughter Beth Gauss (Justin Robarge) of Posen, MI, his grandchildren, Riley, Connor, and Asher Gauss, and Dylan Robarge, his mother, Nancy Love of Chelsea, MI, his sister, Kimberly (Andrew) Lim of Dexter, MI, his niece, Stephanie Lim (Michael Sands), his nephew Brian (Christie) Lim and their children, Eliana and Levi, and his loving canine companions, Kiki and Scotty. He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Love.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the memorial service at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations are suggested to the Ausable Valley Animal Shelter in Grayling, MI, the Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Department in Tipton, MI, or to the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department in Harrisville, MI.
