Kenneth R. Apsey

Kenneth R. Apsey, 88, of Alpena passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at his home. Kenneth was born September 13, 1932 to Robert and Viola Ina (Beebe) Apsey and was a lifelong resident of the Lincoln area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Ken retired as an engineering manager at the Alpena County Road Commission. On July 3, 2004, he married JoAnn Huhtasaari in Alpena. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. He was a passionate houndsman, and participated in local turkey conservation. Ken is survived by his wife, JoAnn, five children, Robert Aspey of Escanaba, Karl (Won) Apsey of Florida, Brian (Tammy) Apsey of Wyoming, MI, Tamara (Mark) Baskin of Hesperia, MI, and David (Susan) Cloft of Alpena, six grandchildren, one great grandson, one sister, Karen (Darrell) Davis and two brothers, James (Nancy) Apsey and Glen Apsey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Delbert Apsey. Mr. Apsey is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 11:00 until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
