Julie K. Mitchell

Julie K. Mitchell, 62, of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena, surrounded by her family. Born June 29, 1958 to Henry and Gwyn (Daoust) Bruske in Alpena, she was raised on the family farm in Ossineke. She graduated from Alpena Community College as a Registered Nurse with straight As with three young children at home. She was a dedicated nurse who worked as a care manager with NEMCSA for 23 years. Julie was a genuine soul with a heart of gold. She was full of life and loved her family fiercely. She was the best Nana ever. Julie always managed to make every event special, and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She will be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes, her big smile, and her contagious laugh. Julie is survived by three children, Nathan (Jodie) Mitchell, Amanda (Shaun) Biggs, and Charisse (Matthew) James, seven grandchildren (and one on the way), A’va, Braxton, Cephra, Devina, and Eden Mitchell, and Benjamin and Zachary James, her mother, Gwyn Bruske, two brothers, Dan and Ken Bruske, three uncles, Tom, Chuck, and Mike Daoust, as well as several nieces and nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Bruske June 30, 2018. Julie is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M.
