Joan Ruth Pintar

Joan Ruth Pintar, age 83, of Mikado died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alpena. She was born July 25, 1934 in Detroit to Carl F. and Mildred (Pilon) Decker Sr. On January 26, 1957 Joan married Bernard Pintar in Lincoln Park, Michigan. They were residents of Wayne, Michigan for many years. She was employed as a key punch operator for the Standard Oil Company before working as a lunch aide for the Wayne-Westland Community School.  In 1997 she moved to Mikado where she was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and TOPS of Oscoda. Joan is survived by her husband and six children, Bernie (Becky) Pintar of Wayne, MI, Gina (Doug) Buttikoefer of Fairfield IA, Steven (Gisele) of Chapleau, Ontario, Judy (Brian) Travis of Spruce, Matthew (Yvonne) of Wayne and Phillip (Lisa) of Mikado;18 grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren and one great great grandson; three sisters, Margaret (Don) Burton of Brownstown Mi, Mary Hurst of Ann Arbor MI and Connie (John) Fontana of Warren, MI; and two brothers, John (Mary) Decker of Ohio and Carl (Kris) Decker Jr. of Bay City, Michigan. Funeral mass was held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Mikado, with Rev. Robert Bissot officiation.
