Jimmy Wayne Skaggs, 72, of Mikado, MI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at his home.
He was born May 22, 1952, to Emmett and Lucy (Eldridge) Skaggs in Sandy Hook, KY. Jimmy moved to Michigan in 1971 where he found employment at Melt Fab in Flint, then transferred to Truck and Bus where he retired after 36 years of service as a heavy repairman. Jimmy met his wife and best friend, Joyce Pawli, in 1978, and they married in July 1988. They moved to Mikado, and made this their permanent home. Jimmy’s hobbies were working on any type of vehicle. If anyone had a problem, he would work on them and never charge them for it. He enjoyed reading, if he wasn’t working on something, he was reading a book, magazine, or newspaper. He used to always say “you will never learn if you don’t read”. Anyone who knew Jimmy grew to respect and care for him. He was very blessed. He loved working with his son, Chad. Don't ever tell Chad, but he knew more than Jimmy when it comes to working on vehicles.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Joyce, his son, Chad Morgan, his granddaughter Reagan Bell, who he called Littlin, his grandson Colesyn Morgan, many brothers, sisters, in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as many friends who loved him as if they were family including his adoptive family, the Lowes, Malachi, Isaiah, Josiah, Micah, Ellie, and Lilly, who he called Little Bit.
As per Jimmy’s wishes, he will be cremated with no service. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
