Jean M. Beard

Jean M. Beard, 77, of Greenbush, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at her home.

Born September 27, 1946 to Robert L. and N. Evon “Bonnie” (Robieson) French in Port Huron City, MI, she was raised in Footsite.  On September 3, 1966, she married Charles E. Beard Jr. in Oscoda.  In 1973 they moved to Greenbush.  Jean was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Mikado, and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul.  A devoted homemaker, Jean enjoyed tending to her garden, and working on her craft projects, especially crochet.  She was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Jean is survived by her children, Charles E. “Chuck” (Amy) Beard III of Harrisville, Rebecca “Becky” Zerod of Bay City, and Michelle (Michael) Valentine of Livonia, nine grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Michael, Andrew, and Elizabeth Fraser, Charles Beard IV, Daniel Beard and Sarah and Emily Zerod, six great grandchildren, Paige, Noah, Phoenix, Kennedy, Chase, and Willow, four sisters, four brothers, numerous nieces and nephews, and her large extended family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on October 27, 2017, and by her daughter, Theresa Fraser on April 14, 1997.  

Mrs. Beard is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Mikado.  Rev. Basil Lek will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery, Mikado.
