James Arthur Wilkinson

James Arthur Wilkinson, 81, of Lincoln, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at his home. Born May 13, 1942, to James Melvin and Betty Mae (Stolmar) Wilkinson in Detroit, MI, he was raised there. As a young man, Jim lived in Argentina and Mexico. A proud Eagle Scout, he also served in the U.S. Air National Guard. On January 26, 1973, he married Diane Gembarski in Warren. He worked as a journeyman with General Motors and retired in 2012. He moved to his beloved property in Lost Lake Woods Club, to the house he built himself. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and could fix just about anything. He liked boating, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, and traveling. He enjoyed wintering in Arizona. Jim is survived by his wife, Diane, four children, Brian Paul (Karen) Bender, Kathleen Marie (Steve) Nowakowski, James Allen (Carrie Lee) Wilkinson, and Jodi Ann (John) Mann, five grandchildren, Justine (Eric) Keel, Jacob Bender, Juliet Mann, Tessa Wilkinson, and John Mann, three great grandchildren, Ellizabeth, Elliot, and Caleb Keel, his sister, Marilyn Irwin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 11:30 AM until the memorial service at 1:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Rev. Josh Angel will officiate.
