James Henry Oswald, 89, of Hubbard Lake, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2019 at his home with his loving friend, Dorothy Kartz by his side. Jim was born in Bay City, Michigan on October 21, 1929 to the late Arvin F. and Kathleen (Ferrio) Oswald. He was employed by Dow Chemical, Midland, Mi. as a lab technician, and has three patents from the projects he worked on. He loved fishing in Hubbard Lake. He was a Jack of All Trades, and enjoyed working on motors. As a young boy he was very curious about how things worked. He is survived by his daughter Susan Mary Tugcu, Belle Isle, Florida, two sisters Eveleen McMorrow, Fergus Falls, MN., and Janet (Jerry) Behmlander, Wellston, Mi., two brothers, Lawrence (Dolores), Standish, Mi., and Gary Oswald, Bay City, Mi., several nieces and nephews, and by his loving friend Dorothy Kartz. He was predeceased by a brother Elmer Oswald, in 1990 and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Oswald, and Jean Oswald. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be in the spring.
