James L. Mead, age 75 of Lincoln, MI, formerly of Flint, MI, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 after a short battle with liver cancer. He grew up in Flint, Michigan, where he worked at Citizen’s Bank for over 30 years. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Jean Mead, and his brother-in-law Ronald Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mead, two sons, Matthew (Annie) Mead, and Brett (Pam) Mead, his sister, Joyce Alexander, and brothers, Jerry (Rita) Mead and Larry Mead. He was blessed with grandsons Joshua Mead, Trevor Joslin, and Ryan Wilk, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim loved golf, hunting, working with the Tuesday Men’s Workbee, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his love and dedication to Lost Lake Woods Club. Jim was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake, a trustee for Alcona Township, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a champion for junior golf. Visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will continue Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake. Pastor Joe Llewellyn will officiate. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Michigan or to the charity of your choice.
