James R. Elmer

James R. Elmer, 81, of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his home. Born January 5, 1941 to Ralph and Edith (Keough) Elmer in Harrisville, he was raised there. Jim served in the US Army. On June 29, 1985, he married Olga Mirutenko in Chicago Ridge, IL. Jim worked as a foreman for 3M in Bridgeview, IL for more than 30 years, and retired to Harrisville in 1998. He was a member of the Harrisville Goodfellows. Jim enjoyed hunting and tending to his large vegetable garden. Jim is survived by his wife, Olga, his daughter, Linda Elmer, three step children, Georgia (Bob) Ehle, Steve (Julia) Alexander, and Yuri (Kayla) Alexander, four grandchildren, McKenzie, Sidney, Sacha, and Vera, his niece Tracy Hartman O’Callaghan, and his nephew, Wade Hartman, and great nephew, Justin Hartman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jerry Elmer, and his sister Joan Hartman. There will be a memorial service on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville.
