Herman "Bucky" G. Knight

Herman G. “Bucky” Knight, 85, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at his home. Herman Knight was born April 16, 1937, to Herman James and Lottie Grace (Forbes) Knight in Essexvlle, MI. A natural musician and entertainer, he traveled over many states playing for dances, weddings, funerals, and celebrations including Governor Romney’s inauguration. Bucky worked for Dow Chemical. A skilled caregiver, he owned and operated Lincoln Haven Nursing Home for over 30 years. On October 17, 1992, he married Linda Peterson in Harrisville. He was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. Bucky worked for the Alcona County Road Commission, and as a volunteer fireman. Bucky served as a trustee for the Village of Lincoln beginning in 1977 and served as president from 1980 until 1983. He was a member of the Alcona Lodge #292 F. and A.M. in Harrisville and became the first Worshipful Master after the lodge consolidated with Lincoln. He enjoyed his hobby farm, wood working, golf, bowling, and especially hunting. Bucky is survived by his wife, Linda, four children, Brian (Ellen) Knight, Kevin Knight, Shawn Knight-Taylor, and Valentina Knight, two stepchildren, William Todd Gutzman and Christy Gutzman, 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, his sister, Beverly Palmer, and his brother, Harold Knight. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Apsey, and his brother, Jim Knight. Mr. Knight is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 2022, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
