Gerald C Gibbs Sr.

Gerald C. Gibbs, Sr. 73, of Lincoln, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home. Born March 19, 1948 to Gordon S. and Evelyn M. (Barber) Gibbs in Alpena, MI, he was a lifelong resident of the area. On December 7, 1966 he married Sherry Crevier in Oscoda. In his early career, Jerry was a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Local 324 Heavy Equipment Operators, and retired in 2004. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, trips to the casino, and taking care of his family. Jerry is survived by his children, Gerald (Kristin) Gibbs Jr., Randy (Shelly) Gibbs, Tammy (Larry) Gibbs and Kristy (Wayne) Gibbs, nine grandchildren, including Megan (Chris) LaBonte who he raised, Melissa LaBonte, Brandon LaBonte, Anthony (Angie) Gibbs, Angel (T.J.) Allen, and Hutch Gibbons, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Shirley Bills and Margaret Paulk, his former son-in-law, George LaBonte, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Sherry on July 26, 2017, his daughter Laura Gibbs on January 4, 1998, his sister Roberta Ranguette, and two brothers, Ronnie and Ervin Gibbs. Mr. Gibbs is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Tyler Bischoff will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery.
