Ernest G. Sanborn

Ernest G. Sanborn, 88, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at his home. Born February 20, 1934, to Austin Middleton and Loretta Sanborn in Barton City, MI, he was a lifelong resident of the area. On May 8, 1954, he married Norma Huffman. In 1963 he purchased a farm in Lincoln, where he enjoyed growing apples and a variety of vegetables. He worked at Wurtsmith Air Force Base until 1969, when he went to work for the Alcona County Road Commission until his retirement in 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma on May 3, 1994. Ernie married Joann Parent on May 7, 1999 in Harrisville. Ernie enjoyed gardening, and playing cards, especially solitaire. Ernie is survived by his wife Joann, three sons, Glenn (Lisa), Roy (Denise), and Walter (Vicki) Sanborn, five step children, Ronald Frasher, Brenda Busch, Kathy Inman, Cindy Lawrence, and Roger (Joan) Frasher, 54 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren, and 43 great great grandchildren, and his brother, Jim Middleton. He was preceded in death by his step son Rodney Frasher and his brother, Richard Middleton. Ernest is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 19, 2022. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate.
