Elizabeth J. Marchinski

Elizabeth J. Marchinski, 74, of Alpena, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at her home.   Born December 12, 1945 to Francis W. and Peterina (MacGregor) Whalen in Bay City, MI, she was raised there. On March 13, 1970, she married Richard Marchinski in Bay City where they resided until moving to Alpena in 1972. Betty worked at Alpena General Hospital and at Alpena Rite Aid, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed playing tennis and bowling. She liked playing cards, and traveling, especially trips to Mackinac on the boat.   Betty is survived by her husband Richard, two stepchildren, Richard (Sharon) Marchinski and Rhonda Marchinski, two step grandchildren, Brandon and Cassia Marchinski, and two brothers, Francis Whalen II and John Whalen. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Whalen.   Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
