Douglas Hazen Medor, 64, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit. Born August 26, 1957, to Hazen E. and Elaine G. (Franklin) Medor in Ypsilanti, MI, he was raised there. Doug earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. He worked for Elian Brothers, and worked at restaurants in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Bellville, and Milan. He retired from Big Boy after 38 years and moved to Lincoln. He was a member of Ypsilanti First Baptist Church. He was a great reader and enjoyed Stephen King novels. Doug loved comic books, was an accomplished accordionist and played the alto saxophone. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed Detroit Tiger baseball, and U of M football. Doug is survived by his mother, Elaine Medor of Lincoln, two uncles Theron (Karen) Franklin of Waterford, and Donald Franklin of Harrisville, two aunts, Carol Franklin of Lincoln, and Helen Fisher of Spruce, as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Hazen, five uncles and seven aunts. Doug is at Gillies Funeral Home where visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 12:30 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM. A meal will follow at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln.
