Doris A. Ward

Doris A. Ward, 88 of Barton City, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Medilodge in Alpena. She was born on November 11, 1930 to Manley and Gladys (Beaverner) Swett in Brandon Township, Oakland County, Michigan. Doris married Junior Phillip Ward on September 25, 1951, he preceded her in death on November 7, 2012. Doris was a longtime resident of Michigan and loved northern Michigan, she often visited her Barton City property since 1954 and came to live there permanently in 1983.She enjoyed knitting, crochet, and gardening. She is survived by two daughters, Alicia (Fred) Maxwell, and LeAnn J. Ward, a son, Lloyd C. (Esperanza Vargas) Ward of, three grandchildren, Elaine (Richard) Maxwell Antorino, Matthew(Amy) Williams, and John Fredrick Childs, Two great grandchildren, Amber Antorino and Logan Williams and a sister, Bethany Swett Haver.  She was preceded in death by Three brothers, Stanley, Harmon  and Russell Swett Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.Interment in Maple ridge cemetery will be at a later date.
