Donald Timothy McKay, 61, of Black River died suddenly on Monday, July 20, 2020, a beloved son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, making music around a fire, fishing, kayaking, whittling, and other simple pleasures. Don was a great man with a heart that was giant and full of love for his family and people he barely knew. Though he is gone, leaving many with a void in their soul, we take comfort in the lessons we have gained from his life and have stored in our hearts. We will carry on honoring his name by showing unconditional love to all. Don is survived by his children, Nichole (McKay) Harvey, Ashley McKay, Samantha McKay, Megan (McKay) Nolan, AJ McKay, TJ McKay and Logan Urban. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren Kayla Harvey, Adam Ward, Robert Bliss II, Alissa Bliss, Maximus Bliss, McKenzie Nolan and Delilah Nolan; his father, Donald E. McKay, his sisters Lisa (McKay) Smith, Laurie (McKay) Hall, Catherine (McKay) Collins, brother Michael McKay and many loved nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara (Miller) McKay and his granddaughter, Lauryn Bradley Harvey The family will have a private gathering and ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of flowers.
