Donald H. Fenner, 93, of Oscoda, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville.
Born March 21, 1931, to Sheldon and Lila (Kent) Fenner in Detroit, he was raised there. Donald served in the U.S. Army in Korea, and earned a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. David’s Parish in Detroit. Don loved hockey, and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He played horseshoes, and was known as “The Ringer”. He coached softball, and loved a good cup of coffee. He was a “movie buff” and enjoyed watching Classic Westerns and Hammer Horror, or anything with his childhood hero, Dick Tracy.
Don is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Fenner, his son David (Kimberly) Fenner, seven grandchildren, Karie (Jeffrey) Wright, David D. (Craig) Fenner, Donald (Chandler) Fenner, Kristin Gentry, Amanda (Kirk) Drennan, Samantha Hamilton, and Lali Fenner, ten great grandchildren, Casey Farnsworth, Braelynn Olsen, Thomas McCarver, Kaleb Fenner, Colin Fenner, Nicholai Fener, Lukas Gentry, Kia Drennan, Avlyn Drennan, and Amelia Drennan, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole, and six siblings, Richard (Anna) Fenner, Jack (Evelyn) Fenner, Sheldon Fenner, Wayne (Doris) Fenner, Betty (James) Trackwell, and Norma (Frederick) Schultz.
Donald is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM, with a prayer service at 1:30 PM.
