Donald L. Bushey

Donald L. Bushey, 85, of Black River, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Medilodge of Hillman.    Born July 5, 1932 to Leo and Bernice (Champayne) Bushey in Huron County, MI, he was raised there and in Spruce.  Don enjoyed working and proudly owned and operated Bushey Sawmill and Alcona Wooden Pallets.  On December 31, 1955 he married Donna Norris in Black River.  They were residents of Spruce before moving to Black River in 2008.  Don was a member of the Spruce VFW Post #6754, where he served as commander and district commander. He was a former Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus Spruce Council #6851.  He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Black River.      He is survived by his wife Donna, six children, Kim (LeeAnn) Bushey of Spruce, Terry (Kurt) Owings of Saline, Kerry (Jack) Scott of Spruce, Tamara (Jeff) Hurst of Wetmore, Renee Karshnick of Barton City, and Michele (Ken) Alderman of Oxford, 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren (with one on the way), one sister, Shirley Tibor of Ossineke, and two brothers, Mike Bushey of Florida and Dennis (Tracy) Bushey of Ossineke.  He was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers.    Mr. Bushey is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Thursday, June 21 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue Friday, June 22 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00.  Rev.
