Denise Rose Powierski, 58, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at McLaren Northern Michigan. Born December 5, 1960 to Frank and Doreen (Rousseau) DePoole in Louisville, KY, she was raised in Detroit. On April 22, 1995, she married David Powierski in Farmington Hills, MI. They were residents of Texas and Garden City before moving to Lincoln in 2000. Denise was an active member of her community and helped everywhere she could. She volunteered for the Boy Scouts, the local schools, Relay for Life, and she enjoyed taking care of children. Denise is survived by her husband, David, four children, Tony DePoole of Texas, Aaron DePoole of Ann Arbor, Jeff (Mehgan) DePoole of Ann Arbor, and Rose (Matt Fisher) Powierski of Lincoln, four grandchildren, two sisters, Debbie (Ed) Bailey, and Maureen DePoole, her brother-in-law, Jim Oakley, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as the many neighborhood children she cared for. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Diana Oakley and Carolyn DePoole Wall. Friends may call Saturday April 6, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda from 10:00 AM until the Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations suggested to Hospital Hospitality House, McNally House, 1701 N Michigan Ave, Saginaw, MI 48602.
