Dean D. Pierce

Dean D. Pierce, 83, of Harrisville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at his home.

Born November 11, 1940, to Grant and Dorothy (Hervela) Pierce in Detroit, he was raised there. On July 18, 1964, he married Barbara Shields in Detroit. Dean served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked as a Detroit FireFighter, and retired as Captain in 1991. A longtime resident of Ann Arbor, he moved to Harrisville in 2005 and worked lovingly on his home. Dean was known for his work ethic; he loved working with his hands and cutting his grass on his beloved John Deere. He was very proud of his family and touched many lives. 

Dean is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughter, Britt Pierce, his son, Lance (Cara) Pierce, three granddaughters, Sydney Pierce (Josh Freese), Marin Pierce and Aila Pierce, his sister, Diana (Gary) Kauffmann, three sisters in law, Diane Matsumoto, Iris Lancaster, and Noreen (Harry) Eiss, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends. 

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Alcona Humane Society.
