Dawn L. Urban

The world lost a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Dawn Louise (Fettes)Urban, on July 4, 2021, after a long battle with an aggressive brain tumor. She was 53 years old. Dawn was born March 19, 1968, to Lavern and Claudia (Truesdell) Fettes in Alpena. On August 22, 2009, she married James Urban in Barton City. It would be wrong to say that Dawn lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Just because she is no longer here, it does not mean she lost her fight. Dawn is survived by her husband, James Urban, her children, Nichole (Mckay) Harvey, Ashley Mckay, Samantha Mckay, Megan (Mckay) Nolan, AJ Mckay, TJ Mckay and Logan Urban, her brothers, Kevin Fettes and Michael Fettes, her sister Tonja (Fettes) Greve and 7 grandchildren who made up the entirety of her world. She was preceded in death by her Father Lavern Kenneth Fettes, her mother Claudia Louise Fettes, her brother, Lavern Kenneth Fettes Jr and her granddaughter Lauryn Bradley Harvey. Visitation will be Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 12:00 until the memorial service at 2:00 PM. Rev. Laraine Sundin will officiate.
