Daniel J. Treinen

Daniel Joseph Treinen, 78, of Hubbard Lake, died November 11,2020, at home surrounded by family in Alpena, Michigan. Dan was born April 29, 1942, in LeMars, IA the son of Norman and Lois Treinen, and was raised on a farm northeast of Remsen. After graduating from high school Dan joined the Navy. From there he took on various jobs until he retired. On June 18, 1971, he married Rosemary Alcorn of Lincoln, MI. They made their home in Ossineke and Hubbard Lake, MI where they raised their eight children. Dan loved singing and was a member of the Besser Male Chorus for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and golfing. Survivors include his eight children, Lisa (Henry) Ogiemwonyi of Sterling Heights, John (Jamie) Treinen of Alpena,Cris (Matt) Miller of East Jordan, David Treinen of Troy, Mark Treinen and Lisa Segorski of Ossineke, Matthew (Katherine) Treinen of Alpena, Kathy (Luke) Dreyer of Lachine, and Nicole Treinen of Midland. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his six siblings, who lovingly referred to him as Danny or Dino. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Funeral mass will be Saturday November 14, 2020 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Ossineke at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church. Rev. Tyler Bischoff will officiate. Masks are required at church. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln. Arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
